Today’s MRM teams face significant challenges with governance and compliance reporting. They often spend countless hours manually compiling data from multiple systems, spreadsheets, and documents to create reports for different stakeholders — from model validators to senior management and regulators. Without a centralized system to support model risk compliance and governance reporting, tracking the status of models across their lifecycle, monitoring validation findings, and demonstrating compliance with regulatory requirements becomes a time-consuming and error-prone process.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce ValidMind’s custom reporting & dashboards — bringing all the information MRM teams need for compliance and governance right to your fingertips.

Customizable reporting for MRM: delivering the right information for every model risk stakeholder

The ability to customize reports in ValidMind’s MRM platform provides essential flexibility to meet diverse stakeholder needs. Model risk teams need to communicate different aspects of risk to various audiences — from technical details for validators, to high-level risk summaries for executives, to compliance evidence for regulators. Each stakeholder has unique information requirements and preferred ways of consuming information. With customizable reporting, your teams can tailor the format, metrics, and level of detail to each audience while maintaining consistency in the underlying data.

This ability means technical teams can drill into detailed model performance metrics, business leaders can get strategic portfolio views, and risk and compliance teams can receive standardized documentation that aligns with their specific requirements.

Additionally, as regulatory requirements and internal policies evolve, teams can easily adapt their reporting without having to rebuild their processes from scratch. This flexibility ultimately helps organizations maintain effective oversight while reducing the time spent manually reformatting and repackaging information for different stakeholders.

Diving into dashboards

Custom dashboards create personalized views to surface the insights you want right when you log in to the ValidMind platform — you can add as many dashboards as you need to suit different use cases, whether it’s managing model documentation and testing as a developer, tracking findings in validation reports as a developer, or monitoring analytics.

To populate your dashboards, you add widgets to display the information that matters to you. Choose from widgets for Model Inventory Views, saved Model Findings, detailed Analytics Visualizations, or a list of Recent Activity — you pick and choose what you need to stay informed.

Get your own dashboard in four simple steps

  1. Add a dashboard — Easily create a new dashboard, name it, and add a description.
  2. Add widgets — Choose from several widget types to display the data or views you need.
Tip: For model findings or model inventory widgets, save the views you want first and then add them as widgets. Some analytics views are available out of the box, but you can also create your own custom visualizations with just the information you want.
  3. Customize the layout — Rearrange and resize widgets to suit your workflow — no two dashboards need to look the same.
  4. Save automatically — Changes are saved to your account without affecting other users.

A practical example

For instance, a chief risk officer might set up a custom high-risk dashboard that combines widgets for:

  • High-risk (Tier 1) models, their owners, and their status
  • High-risk findings for different models and their status

Similarly, a model owner on our platform can configure a custom dashboard to track their collaboration with the validation team as a model progresses through the approval process.

By tailoring the dashboard to their needs, they can add widgets such as:

  • Model Findings View — To see issues a validator identified, their due dates, and the resolution status
  • Analytics Visualization — A custom visualization to gain an understanding of the overall risk exposure for the models you own

This streamlined dashboard helps the developer stay informed and aligned throughout the process — fostering seamless collaboration with validation teams, which is key to an efficient approval workflow.
